Pre-Engineered Safety Control Panels
RCF Automation offers pre-engineered safety control panels designed to provide a reliable, compliant, and scalable foundation for safety-related control applications.
Built around PILZ PNOZmulti 2 safety controllers, these panels combine proven hardware, structured design, and RCF Automation’s engineering standards to reduce project risk, shorten delivery time, and simplify FAT, commission, safety validation, and change management.
Our pre-engineered panels are ideal for clients who require repeatable safety architectures with the flexibility to adapt to specific process requirements.
Why Pre-Engineered Panels?
Traditional automation projects often start from a blank page. Our pre-engineered panels are designed to remove unnecessary complexity while maintaining full engineering rigour. This design has been successfully deployed multiple times across different range of applications.
Key benefits include:
• Reduced engineering and delivery time.
• Lower project risk through standardised design.
• Clear separation between hardware, safety logic, and site integration.
• Predictable scope and cost.
• Easier testing, validation, and maintenance.
Each panel is developed in accordance with RCF Automation’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring consistency across design, build, testing, and documentation.
Core Platform – PNOZmulti 2 Safety Controllers
Our pre-engineered panels are based on the PNOZmulti 2 configurable safety controller platform, suitable for a wide range of safety applications.
Typical applications include:
• Hazardous gas control and interlocks.
• Emergency stop and shutdown systems
• Access control and door or gates monitoring
• Machine and process safety functions
• Integration with gas detection, HVAC, BMS, and protection systems.
The PNOZmulti 2 platform provides a robust, flexible solution without the complexity of a full safety PLC, making it ideal for modular and distributed safety architectures.
What is Included
Hardware
• PNOZmulti 2 base unit
• Safety I/O modules (digital/configurable)
• Power supply and protection devices
• Industrial enclosure and terminal arrangement
• Clearly labelled field interfaces
Documentation
• Electrical schematics
• I/O lists and interface definitions
• Cause & Effect matrices (where applicable)
• As-built documentation package
Engineering
• Standardised panel architecture and wiring philosophy
• I/O allocation aligned with typical safety functions
• Structured safety logic framework
• Provision for future expansion
Factory Testing
& Quality Assurance
All panels are supplied with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) performed at RCF Automation’s facilities and Site Factory Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning performed on the customer’s site.
Testing can include:
• Wiring and continuity checks
• I/O simulation and verification
• Functional testing of implemented safety logic
• Witnessed FAT sessions (optional)
This ensures panels are delivered ready for integration, with known and verified behaviour before arriving on site.
Safety validation activities can be supported as part of the project lifecycle and coordinated with independent validating parties where required.
Configurable,
Not Custom Every Time
While the core architecture is standardised, each panel can be configured to suit your application, including:
• Number and type of safety inputs and outputs
• Interface requirements with external systems
• Operating modes and interlocks
• Expansion capacity
This approach balances standardisation and flexibility, reducing engineering effort without compromising safety or functionality.
